Woody is an extremely gifted musician who plays flute, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet and piano.  He has earned a BA in Piano Technology (piano tuning and regulation) and an MM in Saxophone Performance.

After graduating from college, Woody tuned and repaired pianos in Kansas City, and performed with numerous jazz bands, symphonic bands, small groups and as a soloist, as well as arranging music for jazz guitar.  His teaching philosophy is best described as “learn by doing.”  Woody maintains a friendly, easy-going studio environment, where he encourages each student to maximize their musical skills.  Woody teaches people from all age groups and levels of ability.

For fun, Woody likes to fish, practice Tai Chi, and ride his motorcycle.  He also enjoys restoring old cars, and learning to play new musical instruments.  His latest endeavors are learning violin and harmonica.
